SAINT FRANCISVILLE TRANSITORY THEATRE ANNOUNCES CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 2008
The Saint Francisville Transitory Theatre is pleased to announce its 4th annual Christmas Special during St. Francisville, Louisiana’s annual Christmas in the Country celebration, the first weekend of December, 2008.
This year the company will perform staged adaptations of the classic Christmas tales: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry. Retaining the spirit of the original works upon which they are based, the plays will blend storytelling with scene dramatizations.
Performances are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 6 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7 at Market Hall on Royal Street in St. Francisville. Each performance will run approximately 90 minutes which includes a 15 minute intermission between plays. Admission to all performances is $5.00 per person. Tickets will be on sale 30 minutes prior to each performance. Seating is limited to 50 people, so come early to get your seats!
Directed by Elizabeth Denton, the cast of A Christmas Carol includes Stephen Winham as the Narrator, Ed Lanius as Ebenezer Scrooge, Chase Danna as Fred and the Ghost of Christmas Past, Zak Lanius as Jacob Marley, Fezziwig and the Undertaker’s Man, Naomi Smith as Fan, Martha Cratchit, an unnamed Child and a Chorus member, Brandon Blanchard as Bob Cratchit, Rebecca Kastl as Belle, Ella Calhoun as Belle’s Daughter, Zach Douglas as Belle’s Husband, Lucy Morrison as the Ghost of Christmas Present and an unnamed Person in the street, Chris Kearney as Mrs. Cratchit, Pam Freshney as the Charwoman, Milly Morgan as the Laundress, Anneke Langberg as Fred’s wife, Jack Stewart as Peter Cratchit and Chorus member, Sam Stewart as the Younger Cratchit Brother and Chorus member, William Calhoun as Tiny Tim, Sean Blanchard as an unnamed child, a Boy in the street, and Chorus member, Joe Savell as Old Joe, Suzanne Beckley as a Charity Solicitor and an unnamed Woman, Darlene Reaves as the Ghost of Christmas Future, and Fiona Tully as a Chorus member.
Directed by Alex Kennon, the cast of The Gift of the Magi includes Zak Lanius and Lucy Morrison as the Readers, Anneke Langberg as Della, Zach Douglas as Jim, and Suzanne Beckley as Madame Sofronie.
The crew includes Producer Stephen Winham, Directors Elizabeth Denton and Alex Kennon, Production Manager Ed Lanius, Properties Artisan Lucy Morrison and Marketing Guru Pam Freshney.

The St. Francisville Transitory Theatre is an unofficial not for
profit organization dedicated to producing and performing theatre
in St. Francisville, LA.
Established in 2003 as an Eagle Scout Project to produce
“The Complete Work of William Shakespeare (abridged)” the company
has since grown to produce seven shows in total with at least one more currently being
planned for the summer of 2007.
The mission of the St. Francisville Transitory Theatre is to be a leader in the ongoing artistic revolution in St. Francisville and the surrounding area, expanding the cultural experience of the community by bringing passionately creative theatre to audiences to whom it has been heretofore unfamiliar, in an effort to illuminate their history, current issues, and hopes for the future.
The creation of this work will give our company of both experienced and aspiring theatre artists a place to learn and experiment with both new and old material examined anew through the methods of diverse theatrical cultures from around the globe and their particular significance for our community.
