This was the show that started it all. In the summer of 2003, James Lanius, as part of an Eagle Scout project, coordinated a production of the Reduced Shakespeare Company's The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Aided by friends and fellow founding members Ty Nichols, Karley Ferguson, and Zack Owens, and under the direction of Debra Harris, the company put on performances in St. Francisville's Parker Park during November and December of 2003. In response to the overwhelming demand, the company scheduled an encore performance and took the show "on the road." The next venue was the high school auditorium at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, Louisiana. All proceeds from this show were donated to the West Feliciana Food Bank, marking an important precedent in the company's "not-for-profit" philosophy. At this time, the company was still known by its original name, the Shrunken Shakespeare Consortium. The company would later rename itself before attempting to produce its next show, Happy Birthday Wanda June.

The Cast enjoys a riotous ride through the world of Shakespeare.

Sometimes it's important to look back and reflect on just how far we've come. |
